On 10 August, a high (4th class) and extreme (5th class) fire danger is forecast across Lviv region, while a moderate risk level — 3rd class — is expected in the mountainous areas.
Meteorological conditions will contribute to a significant likelihood of fires starting and spreading rapidly in ecosystems in the presence of ignition sources, in particular open flames.
According to forecasters, during 11–12 August, extreme (5th class) and high (4th class) fire danger will persist across Lviv region.
For the city of Lviv, a high (4th class) fire danger is forecast for 10 August, and an extreme (5th class) fire danger for 11–12 August. Residents and visitors to the region are urged to refrain from lighting campfires, burning dry vegetation and to observe fire safety rules in forests and open areas.
