High fire risk expected in Lviv region on 25–26 August

For 25–26 August, an elevated level of fire risk has been declared for the territory of Lviv region, including the city of Lviv. Meteorologists warn that weather conditions in some areas will favour the outbreak and rapid spread of fires in ecosystems where there is an open flame.

According to the forecast, on 25 August the region will see predominantly a moderate fire risk (class 3), with some areas experiencing a high (class 4) and extreme (class 5) risk. On 26 August, a high (class 4) and extreme (class 5) fire risk is expected across the entire territory of Lviv region.

In Lviv on 26 August, a high level of fire risk (class 4) will be in place. Residents of the region and the city are urged to refrain from burning dry vegetation, lighting campfires in forests and near fields, and to keep a close watch on any sources of open flame.
