Red danger level declared in Lviv region due to heatwave

In Lviv region, an abnormal heatwave with air temperatures rising to dangerous levels is forecast for 04–06 August 2026. This was reported by the Lviv Regional Hydrometeorological Centre.

According to meteorologists, during 4–6 August daytime temperatures will reach 35–39°C, and on 5–6 August in some areas an extreme heat of 40–42°C is expected. A Level III (red) danger warning has been issued.

Such weather conditions may complicate the operation of energy and public utility companies, affect road and electric transport, and also have an adverse impact on people’s wellbeing and daily life.

Specialists advise during the heatwave to:

  • drink sufficient amounts of water;
  • avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight;
  • limit physical exertion during the hottest hours of the day;
  • take particular care of children and older people;
  • never leave children or pets in locked cars.

Residents are advised to follow further warnings and updated weather forecasts, as the information may be refined.
