For 27 August, forecasters predict high (class 4) and, in places, extreme (class 5) fire danger for the northern part of Lviv region, medium (class 3) for the southern part, and minimal, class 1, in the mountain areas.
Such weather conditions create the preconditions for the rapid outbreak and spread of fires in ecosystems if sources of ignition appear, in particular open flames.
According to forecasters, on 28 August most of the territory of Lviv region will see high (class 4), and in places extreme (class 5), fire danger. Between 29 and 31 August, predominantly extreme (class 5) fire danger is expected, with high (class 4) danger in places in the south of the region.
In Lviv, a high, class 4, level of fire danger is forecast for 27–28 August. From 29 to 31 August, an extreme level of fire danger, class 5, is expected in the city.
Residents of the region are advised to minimise the use of open fire in natural areas, not to burn dry vegetation and to follow fire safety rules in order to prevent fires in forests and open areas.
