As of 08:00 on 21 September 2026, rivers in Lviv region remain under low summer–autumn low-flow conditions. According to the hydrometeorological network, 2–9 mm of precipitation fell across the region over the previous 24 hours; however, this has not significantly affected river discharge.
Water level conditions on most watercourses have remained almost unchanged, with slight fluctuations of 1–4 cm, mainly showing a tendency to rise. At the same time, water levels on many rivers are close to their long-term minimum marks. In some places they are holding at these values, such as at the Dniester River hydrological post near the settlement of Rozdil, or even 1–7 cm lower, in particular on the Tysmenytsia River within the city of Drohobych, the Stryi River near the village of Matkiv, the Orava River in the area of the Sviatoslav hamlet, and on the Rata River near the village of Volytsia.
On certain reaches of rivers in the Western Bug basin, in particular on the Rata River near the villages of Volytsia and Mezhyrichchia, as well as on the Svynia River in the area of Zhovkva and the Solokiia River in the town of Sheptytskyi, stagnant water continues to be observed. An alert remains in force for the region regarding a hydrological natural hazard HNH-III – low water levels, issued on 15 September 2026 (No. H–4).
Water temperature in the mountain tributaries of the Dniester ranges from 8.6 to 13 °C, while on other rivers in Lviv region it generally remains between 12 and 18 °C.
According to the hydrological advisory, in the coming 24 hours rivers in the region are expected to retain their largely unchanged low summer–autumn low-flow regime, with minor fluctuations in water levels and a predominance of slight rises.
