
In the Lviv region, a court will consider the case of three residents of Sheptytskyi who assaulted performers of a folk music ensemble at a gas station. The victims — a driver and one of the artists from Ivano-Frankivsk region — suffered bodily injuries.
The incident occurred on December 7, when a minibus with performers was returning from a concert tour to Ivano-Frankivsk. During a stop at a gas station in Sheptytskyi, a conflict broke out between local youths and the minibus passengers, which escalated into a physical altercation.
As a result, the driver and one of the artists sustained injuries. Investigators have completed the pre-trial investigation. The indictment has been sent to court against three suspects aged 17, 18, and 20. They are charged under Part 2 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism committed by a group of persons).
The article provides for a penalty of up to four years in prison or up to five years of restricted freedom.
The perpetrators were identified by criminal police operatives and investigators from the Sheptytskyi District Police Department. Procedural supervision is being carried out by the Sheptytskyi District Prosecutor’s Office.
One more person — a 21-year-old resident of Sheptytskyi — is also involved in the case. His whereabouts are currently being determined. Once located, he will be brought before the court for a preventive measure to be chosen.
