The Ukrainian Veterans Fund of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine reimburses up to UAH 20,000 for items and goods already purchased that are needed to run a veteran-owned business.
The programme is open to war veterans who are duly registered in accordance with the law as sole traders (physical persons-entrepreneurs) or who carry out independent professional activity within the meaning of the Tax Code of Ukraine and have the status of a veteran entrepreneur.
The following set of documents must be attached to the compensation application, in particular:
- an identity document of the applicant (a copy of the passport with all pages, or a copy of the ID card together with the extract on registered place of residence, or a copy of the Ukrainian residence permit);
- proof of registration as an FOP (a copy of the extract from the Unified State Register of Enterprises and Organisations of Ukraine or another official resource with up-to-date data), or certificate in the form 34-OPP for persons engaged in independent professional activity;
- a document confirming war veteran status (combatant’s certificate or certificate of a person with disability as a result of war);
- an extract from the Unified State Register of War Veterans confirming the status of a veteran entrepreneur and issued no earlier than seven calendar days before submitting the application to the Fund;
- documents confirming payment for and receipt of goods or items for entrepreneurial or independent professional activity (bank statements, receipts, delivery notes, etc.).
All submitted financial documents must clearly confirm that the expenses were incurred by the applicant, and must make it possible to identify the list of purchased goods and the fact that they were received. Compensation is not provided for goods that are only planned to be purchased, nor for the repayment of loan liabilities. Repeat compensation for the same person is not envisaged.
