177 industrial and energy facilities approved under simplified land-use procedure in Ukraine

A total of 177 industrial and energy facilities in Ukraine have received construction approval through a simplified land-use change procedure, allowing conversion of agricultural land into industrial zones.

This became possible after the Ukrainian Parliament passed a law last year, which shortened the approval process from 2–3 years to just 1.5–2 months.

According to Dmytro Kysylevskyy, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada’s Economic Development Committee, the law empowers local communities to compete for industrial investments, thus stimulating regional economic growth.

“Industrial facilities contribute more to local budgets than agricultural operations,” Kysylevskyy emphasized.

Example:
In the village of Trebukhiv, Kyiv region, a sewing workshop and a reinforced concrete plant are already under construction on formerly agricultural land. The local community is currently reviewing several more proposals for new enterprises.
