The Ukrainian company Autospetsprom, known for manufacturing ambulances, has expanded its production to include specialized social vehicles designed for transporting people with disabilities, particularly wheelchair users.
During the fourth quarter of 2025, the company successfully produced 32 specialized vans. Key clients include the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Service Center and the Veteran Policy Department of the Kyiv Regional State Administration.
Company representatives emphasized that the development of these vehicles addresses a critical need — the lack of barrier-free environments often restricts the mobility and access to services for people with limited physical abilities. The new transport solution ensures safe and convenient travel to hospitals, rehabilitation centers, administrative services, and more.
The new vehicles are based on the Citroen Jumper, a model already used by the company for ambulances. The vans are equipped with:
- a built-in lift system for loading wheelchair users,
- secure fixation systems for wheelchairs,
- and passenger seats for accompanying persons or medical staff.
Autospetsprom stated that this new product line not only improves the mobility of people with disabilities across cities but also enhances the state’s options when procuring specialized social transport through tenders.
Deputy Director Kyrylo Komorkin noted:
“As a manufacturer of ambulances, we already play an important social role. Creating transport specifically for people with disabilities is a natural extension of our work. It improves accessibility and offers the state a broader range of functional and cost-effective transport solutions.”
