In Lviv, 71 residents whose flats were destroyed during a missile strike will receive monthly payments from the city to cover the cost of renting temporary accommodation. The relevant applications have been approved by the executive committee of the Lviv City Council.
This concerns residents of the buildings at 25 Patona Street and 77 Vyhovskoho Street, whose homes were destroyed or seriously damaged during the attack. At its latest meeting, the executive committee approved a further 2 applications from residents of the building at 25 Patona Street totalling 32,000 UAH. Previously, 69 applications for 1,062,000 UAH had been approved. Thus, the total amount of monthly payments will be 1,094,000 UAH for residents of 71 flats.
The missile attack on Lviv took place on 30 July. The worst affected were two residential buildings on Patona Street and Vyhovskoho Street. In total, more than 20 residential buildings were damaged, as well as a school, a nursery and a library. One person was killed in the strike.
The city is providing several types of compensation to those affected: for shattered windows, damaged front doors, water damage to flats during firefighting, as well as for renting temporary accommodation. The payment amounts are as follows:
- compensation for one shattered window — 15,000 UAH;
- compensation for damaged front doors — 20,000 UAH;
- compensation for water damage to a flat — 15,000 UAH;
- compensation for rent for residents of one-room flats — 12,000 UAH per month;
- for residents of two-room flats — 15,000 UAH per month;
- for residents of three-room and larger flats — 17,000 UAH per month.
If someone who previously lived in a one-room flat decides to rent a two- or three-room home, the city will still pay them 12,000 UAH, and they will cover the remaining rental cost themselves.
To receive compensation for replacing windows, front doors or for water damage to a flat, you must apply to a CNAP with an application and attach:
- a copy of a Ukrainian citizen’s passport or a passport with a contactless electronic chip together with the original certificate of registered place of residence (stay);
- a copy of the taxpayer’s registration card number;
- information about the bank account and its details;
- a copy of the document confirming ownership of the damaged home;
- an act of visual inspection of damage caused by the missile strike, drawn up by the managing company, condominium association (OSBB), housing construction cooperative (ZhBK) or another authorised body;
- copies of documents confirming actual expenses or payment for services (till receipts, invoices, etc.).
To receive financial assistance for rent, residents must also submit an application to a CNAP and attach:
- a copy of their passport;
- a copy of the certificate assigning an identification number;
- information about the bank account and its details;
- a copy of the document confirming ownership of the flat, a copy of the occupancy order or a copy of the order amending the residential tenancy agreement;
- for persons registered in the flat but who are not its owners, an act confirming permanent residence, drawn up by the building manager (OSBB, ZhBK, private or municipal managing company).
On the basis of the submitted documents, the executive committee of the Lviv City Council adopts a decision on granting financial assistance for temporary accommodation for the duration of relocation. All payments will be made to the applicants’ bank card accounts.
