Drohobychteploenergo strengthens boiler house energy resilience ahead of winter

Municipal Enterprise “Drohobychteploenergo” of the Drohobych City Council is preparing for the 2026/2027 heating season and is strengthening the energy resilience of its boiler houses. The company has received another batch of modern energy equipment under a Memorandum with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, which acts on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The new equipment is intended to provide backup power supply for the boiler houses and to reduce dependence on disruptions in the external power grid. This is particularly important under martial law and in view of the risks of emergency power cuts, as an uninterrupted power supply is essential for the operation of pumps, automation, control systems, circulation of the heat carrier and ensuring the safety of heat supply.

The company is carrying out comprehensive technical preparation of the boiler houses, increasing their autonomy, implementing energy-efficient solutions and working on the rational use of energy resources. Among the priorities are reliable heat supply to educational institutions and creating conditions under which their operation will not depend on emergency power cuts or the absence of backup power.

The measures are being implemented as part of the Winter Aid package provided by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) within the framework of transitional assistance and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
