The Czech humanitarian organization “Man in Need” with the financial support of the American people announces a competition for the provision of micro-grants for the restoration of both displaced and local businesses that have suffered as a result of hostilities after February 24, 2022, conduct or plan to conduct their activities in Lviv or Ivano-Frankivsk. Frankivka regions, seeks to restore business and has the potential to create jobs.
The purpose of the project is financing for the recovery of the affected business.
The micro-grant project provides for:
• provision of grant funds on a competitive basis in the amount of:
– up to USD 1,000* for individual entrepreneurs who do not use the labor of employees or have no more than one employee
The size of the grant will depend on the submitted proposal and budget
– up to USD 5,000* for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, individual entrepreneurs who have two or more employees
The size of the grant will depend on the submitted proposal and budget
• educational activities and mentoring support for selected participants (mandatory);
• financial assistance to reimburse the cost of preschool childcare services for the most vulnerable families headed by women, in the amount of up to USD 300/month* for 3 months.
*Payments will be made in the hryvnia equivalent at the official rate of the NBU.
Terms of participation in the project:
• state registration of entrepreneurial activity;
• proven previous experience of conducting activities;
• implementation of current or planned activities in the territory of Lviv or Ivano-Frankivsk regions;
• all activities within the framework of the application must be planned for a period not exceeding six months;
• micro, small and medium-sized enterprises that have already received similar business grants from the state or another organization may participate in the competition, but will not have priority in the selection process.
The project cannot support enterprises that belong to agriculture and the defense industry, manufacture or trade in alcoholic beverages and tobacco products, as well as other goods and services prohibited by the legislation of Ukraine.
Categories of enterprises that can participate in the project:

– micro, small and medium-sized enterprises that after February 24, 2022 moved / re-registered from territories affected by the war to Ivano-Frankivsk or Lviv regions, in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Reintegration dated December 22, 2022 No. 309, as amended (territories , in which military operations are (were) conducted: Dnipropetrovsk Region, Donetsk Region, Zaporizhia Region, Kyiv Region, Luhansk Region, Mykolaiv Region, Odesa Region, Sumy Region, Kharkiv Region, Kherson Region, Chernihiv Region);
– micro, small and medium-sized enterprises headed by women;
– micro, small and medium-sized enterprises from among the local population and entrepreneurs from among IDPs, whose business was lost or who suffered as a result of military actions;
– micro, small and medium-sized enterprises headed by persons/employing persons who belong to vulnerable groups and have limited access to labor markets.
For reference:
– micro-enterprises – natural persons-entrepreneurs and legal entities – economic entities of any organizational and legal form and form of ownership, in which the average number of employees for the reporting period (calendar year) does not exceed 10 people and the annual income from any activity does not exceed the amount equivalent to 2 million euros, determined at the average annual exchange rate of the National Bank of Ukraine;
– small enterprises – natural persons-entrepreneurs and legal entities – business entities of any organizational and legal form and form of ownership, in which the average number of employees for the reporting period (calendar year) does not exceed 50 people and the annual income from any activity does not exceed the amount equivalent to 10 million euros, determined at the average annual exchange rate of the National Bank of Ukraine;
– medium-sized enterprises – legal entities – economic entities of any organizational and legal form and form of ownership, in which the average number of employees for the reporting period (calendar year) does not exceed 250 people and the annual income from any activity does not exceed the amount, equivalent to 50 million euros, determined at the average annual exchange rate of the National Bank of Ukraine (Article 55 of the Economic Code of Ukraine).
Priority in the selection of participants will be:
• creation of additional jobs;
• the ability and willingness to make one’s own contribution to the financing of one’s grant application;
• social orientation of the business idea, provision of goods or services to the most vulnerable categories of the population or provision of social services that are lacking in the community, etc.
Grant funds can be used for:
– transport costs for the transportation of assets (only for the relocated business);
– recovery of assets;
– costs associated with the creation of new jobs;
– salary for the newly created workplace (not pain
