Over the past 24hrs, almost 40,000 people have crossed the border from the Lviv region. Since the beginning of the war – it is almost 290 thousand. 75,000 people have found temporary shelter in the Lviv region, 45,000 of them are permanently settled. Another 30,000 vacancies in the region are equipped with basic necessities for migrants.
This was announced during a briefing by the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration Maksym Kozytskyi.
“At the moment there is no crossing point where there is a queue of more than 80 cars. Trains with migrants are constantly arriving. At the moment, any train traveling from eastern Ukraine is an evacuation train that does not need tickets. People arriving by evacuation trains and they want to leave the Lviv region, they have several options: they can go from the checkpoint by bus to pedestrian checkpoints, where 50 people cross the border in turn. 5-6 times a day, depending on the need. The third option is to get on trains organized by Ukrzaliznytsia to Zakarpattia and go to this region, “said Maksym Kozytskyi.
He stressed that if people stay in the Lviv region and need a settlement, there are buses that take them to the Lviv Arena. There they are given a list of vacancies where they can stay.
