Lviv region ranks first in terms of the number of approved applications of the program participants

The State Employment Center has made regular decisions under the government programs “Own Business” and “Grant for Veterans and Their Spouses” for applicants who applied for financial assistance to develop or start a business in the period from December 18 to December 31, 2023 (taking into account revised applications submitted in previous periods).

Lviv region is once again in first place in terms of the number of approved applications: in the latest wave, 40 participants of the “Own Business” program from our region (11%) will receive microgrants to start or expand their business, including 27 private entrepreneurs with business experience, 8 legal entities, and 5 beginners who will start their own business. As a result of the implementation of their business ideas, 77 jobs will be created in the region, mainly in such sectors of the economy as wholesale/retail trade and vehicle repair (40%), temporary accommodation and catering (18%), processing industry (13%), other services (10%), agriculture, forestry and fisheries (10%).

In total, since July 2022, 1999 applicants from Lviv region have been eligible to receive state financial assistance to organize or expand their business, which will create 4,335 jobs and invest almost UAH 473 million in business.

In the last 23rd wave, 4 applicants from our region also received a positive decision to provide funds in the amount of UAH 250 thousand to UAH 1 million to develop their own business, which will be used to start a veteran business. These are 1 combatant and 3 family members of veterans. They pledged to create 8 jobs and use almost UAH 2 million to scale up their business.

In total, since the launch of the Grant for Veterans and Their Spouses project in Lviv region, 34 program participants will receive state funds totaling more than UAH 14 million for business development, creating 66 jobs.
