A resident of Yavoriv district is suspected of smuggling goods worth almost 30 million UAH.
Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the suspicion was modified. In early August, the man tried to smuggle in products from Poland, including premium phones and elite perfumes. To avoid declaration, he chose the ‘green corridor’ at the border.
The smuggling was found in the cargo section of the minibus, where it was hidden under sausage products. **Border guards** discovered over 400 mobile phones, almost 3,500 bottles of perfumes, and 19,500 bottles of liquids for electronic cigarettes. The value of the confiscated items amounts to almost 17 million UAH, and the liquids to over 12 million UAH.
The results of a commodity expert examination were the basis for changing the legal qualification. The suspect’s actions are qualified under Part 2 of Article 201-4 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – smuggling of excise goods. The goods and the vehicle have been seized.
