Lviv Region Presented the Action Plan for 2025–2026

Today, the Regional Action Plan for 2025–2026 was presented in the Lviv region. This was announced by the head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Maksym Kozytskyy.

The main goal is to implement the Strategy for Ensuring the Right of Every Child in Ukraine to Grow Up in a Family Environment. According to him, the plan contains many tasks united around two main principles:

  • We must help children who are not raised in families to grow into people filled with dignity and freedom. With their own choice. So they understand what love and goodness are. So they want to create their own families. So they carry love and goodness into them.
  • Our duty is to do everything we can, at all levels, so that every Ukrainian child grows up in a family where their needs for harmonious development are cared for. Because, no matter how professional they may be, no institution can provide what a real family can.

«I am grateful to everyone who contributed to the creation of this roadmap for our region. Special thanks to the Coordination Center for the Development of Family Care and Child Care, UNICEF Ukraine, charitable organizations, and, of course, the communities of the Lviv region. Thank you to the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, for consistency and deep understanding of the essence of this reform», said Maksym Kozytskyy.

It should also be noted that Lviv is one of the 10 demonstration regions where the reform of the child care and support system has already started: six communities are implementing integrated social services; specialists are working with families in crisis; our partners are helping create development and rehabilitation spaces for children.

«We have a very challenging and very important goal: to change the philosophy of institutions. Priorities should be support, partnership, and dignified childhood. I believe we can do it», he added.
