Lviv region has taken first place among Ukraine’s regions by the number of marked sites on the Accessibility Map. Over the past two years, 10,320 locations in Lviv region have been added to the service, 6,192 of them in 2025 and 4,128 in 2026.
This large-scale monitoring is carried out using a single checklist. It helps to identify hidden obstacles for people with disabilities and residents with limited mobility, since the formal presence of a ramp does not in itself guarantee full accessibility. The information collected will form the basis for local accessibility plans in communities.
According to Deputy Head of the Lviv Regional State Administration Oleksandr Kulepin, first place in the ranking is the result of joint efforts by communities, specialists and all those involved in the monitoring.
«First place is the result of joint efforts by communities, specialists and everyone who takes part in the monitoring. At the same time, the real result is not the number of markers on the Map, but the tangible changes that allow people with disabilities, residents with limited mobility and each of us to move freely, access services and fully participate in community life. We will keep working,» stressed Deputy Head of the Lviv Regional State Administration Oleksandr Kulepin.
The Lviv Regional State Administration notes that data from the Accessibility Map will help communities identify priority sites, plan funding and gradually remove the identified barriers, creating a truly barrier-free environment in the region.
