Lviv Region: over UAH 57 million allocated for veteran-led businesses and production for the Defence Forces

In Lviv Region, within the framework of the Programme to Enhance the Region’s Competitiveness for 2021–2026, more than UAH 57 million has been allocated this year from the regional budget to support veteran-led businesses and enterprises that manufacture products for Ukraine’s Defence Forces. This was reported following the meetings of expert commissions held on 8 October with the participation of Lviv Regional Council deputies Volodymyr Kharkhalis and Roksolyana Voronovska.

Under the Programme, total funding of UAH 76.21 million has been earmarked for 2026. This year alone, 61 veterans or their family members have received grant support to start or develop their own businesses, totalling UAH 8.84 million.

In addition, 35 veteran-run businesses have been approved for voucher support totalling UAH 2.56 million. Another funding stream concerns manufacturers working for the Ukrainian Armed Forces: 60 joint applications from enterprises and volunteer organisations have been approved for UAH 46.23 million.

Thanks to these funds, 28 military units have received products. In particular, this includes 1,092 unmanned aerial vehicles, 201 ground robotic systems, 74 charging stations, seven unmanned aviation systems, five ground control stations for UAVs and one automated gun system.

Over the entire duration of the Programme in 2021–2026, 205 veterans and their family members have already benefited from grant support, with a total value of UAH 28.84 million. During this period, 95 entrepreneurs have received voucher support amounting to UAH 6.49 million.

Lviv Regional Council deputy Volodymyr Kharkhalis noted that the Programme is currently being implemented in two key areas — support for veteran-led businesses and production for the Defence Forces — and stressed the importance of maintaining both components and strengthening the most effective instruments in the coming years.
