As informed by the head of Lviv OVA, Maksym Kozytskyi, Lviv Oblast is currently 60% ready for the new heating season
“There are 1,682 boiler houses in our region. As of today, 1,026 of them are ready for work in the autumn-winter period. A stock of coal, wood and pallets has been created at the boiler houses of communal and departmental property,” said Maksym Kozytskyi.
They are planning to replace ten boilers and the same number of major repairs. As part of the preparation of the housing fund, work is carried out on the repair of indoor power supply systems, repair of indoor heat energy and hot water supply systems, and washing of indoor heat energy supply systems. Completed comprehensive preparation of 11,508 residential buildings and 1,535 social sphere objects.
The state of readiness of water supply and sewerage in the region is 63%. They planned to repair and replace 45 km. water supply and sewage networks. As of July 30, 26.92 km (55%) were repaired and replaced.
“In the event of a power outage, healthcare and social security institutions are 100% equipped with generators,” Maksym Kozytskyi said.
In addition, in preparation for the autumn-winter period, the presence and readiness for operation of backup power sources in educational, cultural institutions, heat supply and water supply and sewage enterprises are checked.
“We are constantly negotiating with donor organizations in order to create the largest possible reserve of alternative power sources in the region. The Comprehensive plan for the autumn-winter period of 2023/24 was approved. A response plan has been developed in case of crisis situations, in particular in case of damage to facilities of heating, water supply, drainage, electricity supply and gas supply. All the specialists of the specialized units know what they have to do,” added the head of the region.
The Lviv region has until October 1 to fully prepare for the new heating season.
