On the eve of the Lviv Regional Military Administration received from Polish volunteer organizations 150 special individual packages with things and basic necessities.
In case of long-term stay of people in the shelter of Lviv OVA, these packages will serve as additional stocks, each of which weighs an average of 4-5 kilograms. They can be used for 2-4 days.
Each set contains: long-term storage food, hygiene products, warm clothes, namely bedspreads, as well as sleeping bags and mats. This set also includes medications, including painkillers.
“At the initiative of the Lviv OVA, Polish volunteer organizations responded to help complete the shelter with the necessary things designed for a long stay. Part of the sets was received by the military administration, the other part – the shelter of the railway station. In total, we are talking about 300 sets of food, medicine, hygiene products and more. It is important to provide as many shelters as possible with such means, not only in the region, so that in case of any emergency, people have basic necessities for life, “said Vitaliy Zahainyi, Deputy Head of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
If the shelter loses electricity, the received packages are provided with batteries, flashlights and power banks.
Kits with essentials were provided by three Polish charitable volunteer organizations at the initiative of the Lviv OVA and the coordinators of the evacuation mission to work with temporarily displaced persons at the railway station, volunteers Volodymyr Mykhalyshyn and Konstantin Karmalyuk.
These are the Grand Christmas Orchestra Charitable Foundation (Fundacja WIelka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy) and the Szeginie Center for Humanitarian Aid (Szeginie). As well as the NGO Association for the Animation of Border Culture “Folkowisko” (Stowarzyszenie animacji kultury pogranicza folkowisko), which since the first days of the war provides humanitarian assistance to refugees from Ukraine.
In the future, such packages are planned to provide even more shelter.
