Lviv enterprises produce equipment for warning systems: developments presented to five oblasts

The work of the warning system in Lviv region was presented to civil defense units from five regions.

A working meeting with colleagues from the Volyn, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne and Chernivtsi regional military administrations was held at the Civil Protection Department of the Lviv Regional Military Administration. The main focus was on the development and modernization of territorial and local automated centralized warning systems.

“According to the government plan, this year we have to complete the modernization of the territorial and local warning systems. Therefore, it is very useful to share our experience with colleagues, learn something new, and discuss problematic issues,” said Igor Tuz, Director of the Department.

In the course of the meeting, the participants got acquainted with the composition, capabilities and progress of the modernization of the territorial warning system of Lviv region, and inspected the local warning system of the Murovanka rural territorial community, which is among the five best.

The demonstration of public warning equipment manufactured by Lviv enterprises aroused great interest.

“Given Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine, the topic of public warning is extremely relevant. The question arises whether Ukraine needs an Israeli or European-style warning system or whether it needs to develop its own production. Fortunately, this issue has been resolved in the Lviv region. Thanks to the consolidation of efforts by Lviv manufacturers and scientists, we have a high-quality Ukrainian product – a state-of-the-art electronic siren with more than 90% localized production. The region has been using this system comprehensively since 2018, and since February 2022, almost non-stop. During this time, more than 1000 launches have been made. At the same time, there were no failures that could critically affect its operation. Therefore, we can say with confidence that the Lviv system passed the exam and proved its viability. In particular, the price-quality ratio is many times better than that of foreign counterparts,” added Igor Tuz.

The participants of the meeting positively assessed the achievements of the Lviv Regional Military Administration in modernizing warning systems. The experience we gained in creating the prototype will be used to implement our own warning systems.
