
Ancient coins and Soviet medals have been discovered at the Ukrainian-Polish border.
At the crossing points ‘Shehyni’ and ‘Rava-Ruska’, border guards of the 7th Carpathian Detachment found coins from the 19th-20th centuries and Soviet-era medals. All items have been confiscated for further study.
At the ‘Shehyni’ crossing, during the inspection of a Jeep driven by a 54-year-old native of Kherson, border guards discovered six coins of various denominations dating back to the 19th-20th centuries. In a passenger bus heading to the German city of Bonn, Soviet medals were found in the personal belongings of a 62-year-old passenger.
The confiscated items have been sent for examination. The operations were conducted in cooperation with customs officials.
