The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and the President of Latvia Egils Levits paid a visit to the Lviv region.
At Lychakiv Cemetery, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska together with President of the Republic of Latvia Egils Levits and his wife Andra Levite honored the memory of Ukrainian soldiers who died during the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Heads of state and first ladies laid flowers at the graves of Ukrainian defenders on the Field of Mars.
We would like to remind that this is the second visit of the President of Ukraine to the Lviv Region from the beginning of 2023. In January, he met with the Presidents of Poland and Lithuania during the second summit of the Lublin Triangle. Lychakiv military cemetery is the territory of military burials.
On this field there is a Memorial to the memory of UPA heroes and buried UPA soldiers, a cross in memory of Ukrainian Sich riflemen, three small stone crosses, under which there are crypts-tombs, where the victims of Bolshevik terror, tortured in Zamarstinivska in ‘the prison, the alley where the soldiers who died during the Second World War are buried.
Soldiers of the Russian-Ukrainian war have been buried in the central part of the Lychakiv military cemetery since April of this year.
