In the Lviv region, police stopped the activities of the drug laboratory, and detained 8 drug traffickers since the beginning of the war

Investigators of territorial police departments of Lviv region have launched criminal proceedings on all the facts, five people have been reported on suspicion of illegal production, manufacture and sale of drugs, and four of them have already been remanded in custody.

Thus, at one of the checkpoints in the village of Pidryasne, criminal investigation officers of the Lviv Region police together with colleagues from the territorial police department found 9 packages of a drug-like substance in the vehicle of a BMW while checking a BMW car. “Cannabis”, weighing more than half a kilogram.

The investigative task force and other employees of the police department №1 of the Lviv District Police Department №2 worked on the spot. According to police, the attackers – residents of Ivano-Frankivsk region aged 22 and 27 – rented premises in one of the villages of the district, where hemp was grown and the drug “cannabis” was produced for further sale in Lviv region.

During the searches, police found and seized 34 ready-to-distribute plastic bags containing drugs weighing more than 2.6 kilograms, as well as other evidence of criminal activity.

Everything withdrawn is sent for expert research.

Both drug dealers were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, they were remanded in custody.

Investigators of the territorial police department informed the detainees about the suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 3 of Art. 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, purchase, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues, committed on a particularly large scale) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The suspect faces imprisonment for a term of nine to twelve years with confiscation of property.

In addition, while patrolling the area near the village of Gamaliyivka, Lviv region, officers of the patrol police response team of the Lviv Police Department №1 stopped a VAZ-211 car, the driver of which violated traffic rules and curfew.

During a search of the passenger of the car, police found and seized 7 zip-packs with a substance that looks like amphetamine. A 23-year-old local resident was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Investigators of the territorial police department informed the detainee about the suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, purchase, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The suspect faces imprisonment for a term of four to eight years.

Pre-trial investigations are ongoing.
