Large-scale production of modular homes using Swedish technologies planned in Lviv region

In Lviv region, preparations are under way to launch one of Ukraine’s largest modular home production facilities, which will operate using Swedish technologies. The plans to invest in the region were announced by Johan Berglund, managing partner of Folkehemmet.

The project envisages the manufacture of up to 1,500 modular homes per year. The structures are to comply with European requirements for energy efficiency, quality and modern construction standards. Timber will be the main building material, and the homes will be delivered fully ready for use.

The modules are intended not only for housing, but also for schools, medical facilities, administrative buildings and other social infrastructure sites. At the initial stage, the modules will be supplied from Sweden, while the company simultaneously develops its own production facilities in Lviv region.

Folkehemmet also intends to organise professional training and employment for Ukrainian male and female veterans. At the outset, this concerns around 100 jobs, and once the enterprise reaches full capacity, their number is expected to increase to more than 200.

The company is interested in cooperation with Ukrainian educational institutions and local manufacturers. The Lviv Regional State Administration has stated that it is ready to provide the investor with the necessary support, help select the optimal location for the enterprise and organise interaction with communities at all stages of the project implementation.
