Head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration Maksym Kozytskyi has signed an order defining the procedure for the start of the heating season in the region. The document stipulates that heating will begin to be supplied to residents’ homes in Lviv region when the average daily air temperature remains at +8°C or below for three consecutive days.
The decision on the specific date for switching on the heating will be taken separately by each community, based on the actual weather conditions. At the same time, for social facilities – hospitals, schools, nursery schools and other institutions – provision has been made to allow heating to start earlier, without waiting for a sustained cold spell.
To receive heating in advance, the heads of such institutions must submit written applications. According to Maksym Kozytskyi, the main task of the authorities is to ensure the readiness of heat supply systems and the timely start of the heating season, as well as to create conditions under which socially important institutions will be able to receive heating when it is needed.
To coordinate actions during the autumn-winter period, an operational headquarters is planned to be set up in Lviv region. In addition, the Department of Fuel and Energy Complex, Energy Efficiency and Housing and Communal Services of the Lviv Regional State Administration will carry out continuous monitoring of the situation until the end of the heating season in the region.
