On Saturday and Sunday, 27–28 June, Chernovola Avenue in Lviv will undergo full-width resurfacing of the carriageway on the section from Khimichna Street to Lypynskoho Street. While the works are under way, traffic on this stretch will be organised in a contraflow format. This was reported by the Shevchenkivskyi District Administration.
The section in question is about 340 metres long, where the avenue has two lanes in each direction, separated by a grass verge. First, road workers will mill the damaged surface and raise manholes and storm drain grates, after which a new layer of asphalt will be laid.
The works will be divided into two stages. On Saturday, two lanes in the outbound direction from the city will be resurfaced, while two-way (contraflow) traffic will be organised on the opposite side. On Sunday, in turn, the lanes in the inbound direction to the city will be repaired, and traffic will run in both directions along the section of the avenue resurfaced on Saturday.
The works have been assigned to the contractor TOV “Shlyakhovyk-T”. The Shevchenkivskyi District Administration is urging drivers to take the temporary restrictions into account when planning their journeys and, where possible, to choose alternative routes.
In the spring, the Shevchenkivskyi District Administration had already renewed the road surface on Chernovola Avenue with large patch repairs on the section from Varshavska Street to Khimichna Street. The Halytskyi District Administration carried out similar works on the part of the avenue from Horodotska Street to Pid Dubom Street.
