In Lviv, on Horodotska Street, on the section from the Sknylivskyi overpass to Vyhovskoho Street in the direction of entering the city, milling of the old asphalt surface has begun.
According to the Zalyznychnyi District Administration, on this section they plan to partially replace the lower and completely renew the upper layer of the road surface. The rainwater grates and inspection chamber manholes will also be raised to the level of the carriageway.
The works are being carried out by lanes: where the specialised machinery is operating, traffic is restricted, while the adjacent lane remains open to vehicles. Weather permitting, repairs on this part of Horodotska Street are scheduled to be completed by 1 September, with the works being carried out on a deferred payment basis.
The Zalyznychnyi District Administration reminds residents that last Saturday the continuous asphalting of Horodotska Street in the direction of leaving the city was completed, and this side is already open to traffic. Now the opposite side is being renewed — from the Sknylivskyi overpass to Vyhovskoho Street in the direction of entering Lviv.
The city transport department notes that the repairs on Horodotska Street do not change the public transport routes: all services are running along their usual routes, although delays are possible due to the operation of heavy road machinery.
Repair works on the section of Horodotska Street from Vyhovskoho Street to the Sknylivskyi overpass started on 6 August, with this section being approximately 2 km long.
The article also recalls that after the start of russia’s full-scale invasion, capital road repairs in Lviv were temporarily suspended. However, due to heavy traffic on certain streets, the surface began to deteriorate rapidly, and postponing the works would only have increased their cost.
Therefore, in 2025, using loan funds, repairs began on Zaliznychna Street, which is described as one of the most accident-prone in the city. In 2026, again using loan resources, repairs started on Mazepy Street. Meanwhile, upgrades on Stryiska, Heroiv UPA, Horodotska and Vynnychenka streets are being carried out on a deferred payment basis.
Local businesses are also contributing to the financing of road works. In particular, repairs on Koniushynna Street were carried out with deferred payment and co-financing from entrepreneurs. Repairs on Beskydska Street are ongoing in the same format.
