A large-scale replacement of an emergency trunk heating network is under way on Naukova Street in Lviv. Because of this, from 6 to 8 August traffic will be restricted near the junction with Pidstryhacha Street, and trolleybus No. 22 will temporarily operate on a diverted route. This was reported by LME “Lvivteploenergo” and the city transport department.
Repair works will be carried out on the traffic lanes in the direction of Sykhiv. On the opposite side, on the lanes towards the Victoria Gardens shopping centre, a reversible traffic system will be organised near the Naukova–Pidstryhacha junction.
For the duration of the traffic restrictions, trolleybus No. 22 on the “University — Bus Station” route will be diverted via Volodymyra Velykoho, Troleibusna and Rubchaka streets in both directions.
Since 29 July, Lvivteploenergo has been replacing more than a kilometre of one of the most failure-prone trunk heating mains on Naukova Street. Pipelines are being replaced at five sections: at the junctions of Naukova Street with Knyahyni Olhy Street and Stryiska Street (Pidstryhacha), near the “1001 trifles” shop, as well as near buildings No. 17 and No. 28 on Naukova Street. The pipe diameter on these sections ranges from 270 to 720 mm.
It was precisely on these sections that bursts occurred most frequently in the past, which meant that last winter heat supply had to be temporarily cut off to deal with emergencies. The repairs are scheduled to be completed by 29 August.
For the period of the heating network replacement on Naukova Street, the supply of hot water has been cut off to buildings at the following addresses:
- Knyahyni Olhy Street: 69, 71, 73, 75, 77;
- Kulparkivska Street: 133, 135, 139, 141, 143, 145, 147;
- Naukova Street: 2, 4, 4a, 6, 6a, 8, 9, 10, 10a, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, 28, 28a, 29, 30, 31, 33, 34, 37, 39, 41, 43, 44, 46, 48, 49, 50, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 61, 62, 64, 66, 68, 74, 76, 82, 86, 94, 96, 100, 102, 104, 106, 110, 112, 114, 116;
- Ivana Puliuya Street: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 15, 17, 18, 19, 21, 23, 25, 29, 32, 38;
- Vasylia Symonenka Street: 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 18, 20, 22;
- Troleibusna Street: 10, 12, 14.
This year, LME “Lvivteploenergo” plans to replace a total of around 15 km of heating networks to improve the reliability of the system and ensure a stable heating season. The company manages more than 560 km of heating networks, and over half of them have already exceeded their standard service life.
