In Lviv at the weekend, on 25–26 July, the top layer of asphalt will be laid on Trakt Hlynianskyi Street on the section from Bohdanivska Street to Bihova Street. For the duration of the works, traffic along this stretch will be completely closed to all types of transport.
Due to the closure, the routes of four bus services will be altered. Buses No. 18 and No. 23 will run only as far as the Trakt Hlynianskyi — Bohdanivska junction. Service No. 29 will operate on the route Vynnyky — Lysynychi — “Provesin” neighbourhood (“Provesin” stop); to maintain headways, two more buses will be added to the route. Bus No. 61 will run on the route Pidbirtsi — Vynnyky — Pidbirtsi.
Drivers of private vehicles are asked, where possible, to choose alternative options for entering and leaving Lviv. In particular, they are advised to use routes via B. Khmelnytskoho Street, Zelena Street, the village of Zubra and Stryiska Street.
LKP “Lvivavtodor” warns that, due to the closure of Trakt Hlynianskyi Street, the load on Lychakivska Street may increase, where slope reinforcement works using construction machinery are under way. On this section, contraflow traffic with traffic light control has been introduced, so drivers are advised, where possible, to choose other routes so as not to worsen the situation on Lychakivska.
As noted by the Lychakiv District Administration, the works to lay the top layer of asphalt have been scheduled specifically for Saturday and Sunday in order to reduce inconvenience for residents and the impact on traffic. If the contractor manages to complete the repairs earlier, the street will be reopened to traffic immediately after the works are finished.
Repairs to Trakt Hlynianskyi Street have been under way since the end of May. The pavements have already been repaired, the most problematic section of the water main has been replaced, the old asphalt surface has been removed and the base layer of asphalt has been laid.
