August 19 in the village of On the occasion of the professional holiday of the Beekeeper’s Day, Soposhin of the Lviv district held a round table on the topic “The state and prospects of the development of the beekeeping industry.”
About 80 beekeepers from all districts of Lviv region and guests of the event took part in the event.
On the occasion of the professional holiday and for their conscientious work and significant contribution to the development of beekeeping, the best beekeepers of the region were recognized with certificates and thanks from the Lviv Regional State Administration, the Lviv Regional Council, the Department of Agricultural Development of the Lviv Regional State Administration, and the Zhovkiv City Council.
“There are more than 4,000 apiaries in Lviv region, and only half of them work officially. Our beekeepers are very different: someone is engaged in this business as a hobby, and for someone it has already grown into a full-fledged business. But almost every one of our beekeepers is integrated into the international market, because Ukraine exports more than 80% of the produced honey. Taking into account the further growth of demand on the foreign market and the great dependence of the Ukrainian honey business on exports, it becomes clear why it is necessary to register your apiary, enterprise and strive for the introduction of modern production technologies” – noted Tetyana Getman, director of the department of agro-industrial development of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
