Drohobytsk City Hospital No. 1 is a medical institution that serves 250,000 residents of the district, and also accepts patients with cardiovascular diseases from Sambir region and Stryi region. In the course of the medical reform, it was defined as a cluster.
Today, November 2, the head of the Lviv OVA, Maksym Kozytskyi, inspected the progress of repair work at the Drohobytsk City Hospital.
Currently, the facility is undergoing capital repairs, which are financed from the funds of the regional budget and the budget of the Drohobych community.
In particular, the newly created urology department is being equipped at the expense of the local budget. For this, the building was reconstructed.
In order to insulate the premises of the surgical building and reduce energy costs, a major overhaul of the facade is carried out using energy-saving technologies. This was done within the framework of the Program of priority infrastructure projects in the Lviv region under the conditions of co-financing from the regional (3.325 million UAH) and local (3.325 million UAH) budgets.
Also, a capital repair of the intensive care unit in the cardiology department of the therapeutic building has already been carried out here. The ventilation and heating systems, the oxygen supply system have been updated. Also, a resuscitation room was set up. The works were financed from the local budget.
In addition, new medical equipment with a total cost of almost 90 million UAH was purchased for the hospital this year (of which the local budget – 89.2 million UAH, the funds of the National Health Service of Ukraine (state budget) – 521.4 thousand UAH, the hospital’s own funds – 132 UAH 2 thousand):
– MRI system;
– two x-ray systems;
– equipment for the pathology laboratory;
– Ultrasound device, etc.
“Today, we are living in the process of medical reform, and I am very grateful to the NSHU for working correctly, distributing resources when “money follows the patient” and the better conditions we create for people, the better services specialists will provide, the greater development will be institutions We are also forming a hospital network, and in this process we can concentrate assistance on institutions that provide truly high-quality medical services. It is also a reform of decentralization, thanks to which resources appeared in the communities and they can dispose of them themselves,” said the head of the region, Maksym Kozytskyi.
We would like to remind that according to the order of the head of the Lviv District Maksym Kozytskyi “On approval of the list of health care facilities of the capable network of the hospital district of the Lviv Region” dated 07.27.2023 No. 577/0/5-23BA of the KNP, Drohobytsk City Hospital No. 1 is designated as a cluster hospital. According to Maksym Kozytskyi, such a status also entails corresponding requirements from the National Health Service of Ukraine – both regarding the presence of departments, which must be provided in accordance with the equipment list, and regarding personnel.
“Department of emergency medical care, stroke center, department of interventional cardiology and reperfusion therapy, updated intensive care unit of the cardiology department, purchase of modern equipment, preparation of premises for the newly created urology department – all these are steps to ensure the concentration of the main types of urgent and planned medical care within one a cluster institution, self-sufficient and capable in order to fully and qualitatively provide medical care to the population in accordance with the list of areas of medical care in the region,” added the head of Lviv OVA.
