The Novoyavorivsk community has launched the preparation of a Municipal Energy Plan (MEP) through 2037. The document is being developed within a project to be implemented with the support of the United States Government in cooperation with Tetra Tech ES.
The MEP is intended to set out how the community will develop its energy system over the next decade: where energy consumption can be reduced, which facilities require modernisation, and which solutions will help strengthen energy resilience.
As part of this work, the first working meeting with the project team has already taken place. Participants familiarised themselves with the operations of the local water utility and CHP plant, and also began collecting data on energy consumption by municipal and budget-funded institutions, the residential sector and businesses.
The next stage involves a survey and systematisation of information for the period 2017–2025. Based on these data, the intention is to identify priority areas and specific projects that the community will implement in the coming years.
The Municipal Energy Plan is expected to enable the community to take management decisions grounded in real indicators: to see where the most energy is consumed, what savings potential exists, and which facilities should be prioritised for investment. This will help to steadily modernise the energy infrastructure, enhance its resilience and prepare high-quality projects to attract investment.
