Ukraine has launched the updated entrepreneurial support programme “Own Business 2.0”, which opens up additional opportunities both for those who already run a business and for those who are only planning to start one. Under the new rules, participants can apply for grants of up to UAH 2.5 million.
The maximum amount of funding is now formed from a basic sum and additional top-ups awarded for meeting specific programme conditions. Entrepreneurs can also independently choose the implementation period for their business project — 2, 3 or 5 years.
There are two main levels of financial support. To start a business, applicants can receive from UAH 100,000 to UAH 500,000 without any mandatory requirement to create new jobs. To scale up an existing business, the grant amount will range from UAH 500,000 to UAH 2.5 million, provided that at least one new job is created.
The “Own Business 2.0” programme is being implemented by the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the State Employment Service.
