Carriers holding permits for regular international passenger services via the Shehyni–Medyka border crossing may now also use them at the Nyzhankovychi–Malhowice and Smilnytsia–Krościenko crossings on the border with Poland.
It is reported that this arrangement was agreed by the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland and the Ministry of the Interior of Poland. The decision was taken due to repair works at the Shehyni crossing point, which began on 15 June and will continue until the end of 2027 and may significantly slow down the processing of buses.
Following the changes, a single permit for regular services issued for Shehyni–Medyka in effect applies to all three border crossings. The relevant settings have already been entered into the eCherha system, so carriers can book a place in the queue with such permits both for Nyzhankovychi–Malhowice and for Smilnytsia–Krościenko.
The decision is expected to help maintain the continuity of bus routes and reduce waiting times at the border. Carriers are asked to take the changes into account and, where necessary, use alternative border crossing points.
