The Lychakiv District Administration of Lviv is preparing an official claim against the contracting company PP “Roma” over deformation of the asphalt surface on a recently repaired section of Zelenа Street. The contractor must remedy all identified defects at its own expense, and the city will not transfer payment until the road quality has been fully restored.
According to the district administration, deformation was recorded on certain stretches of the road where repairs were carried out using so-called “large patches”. To determine the causes of the damage, a joint on-site meeting was held on 6 July with the participation of representatives of the Lychakiv District Administration and the contracting company.
Representatives of PP “Roma” explained that the asphalt began to deform due to challenging temperature conditions and the poor condition of the road base, which requires major repairs. At the same time, the Lychakiv District Administration stresses that these factors cannot justify the quality of the works performed, as the surface should not lose its properties such a short time after repair.
“We are preparing an official claim to the contractor demanding that all identified defects be remedied. As of today, the funds for the works performed have not yet been paid. Payment will be made only after the defects have been eliminated and the road surface is in proper condition,” the Lychakiv District Administration emphasised.
Repairs to the road surface using large patches on Zelenа Street, on the section from Yu. Romanchuk Street to V. Ivasyuk Street, were carried out on 23–24 June. Earlier this spring, road workers had already restored another problematic part of this street — from Shota Rustaveli Street.
