Repairs to Horodotska Street in Lviv carried out at night to ease congestion

In Lviv, resurfacing works are under way on Horodotska Street on the stretch from Vyhovskoho Street to the Sknylivskyi overpass, in the direction of leaving the city. Due to heavy traffic, the main milling of the old asphalt on this section is being done at night — from 21:00 to 06:00 — to avoid causing major traffic jams.

The Railway District Administration notes that around 2 km of road are being repaired. The worn surface has already been partially planed off on certain sections and work is under way to raise the manholes of inspection chambers.

Horodotska Street has not been completely closed: restrictions are in place only on the lanes where machinery is operating. According to the district administration, it is safer and more convenient to use heavy-duty vehicles and specialised equipment at night, which makes it possible to minimise the impact on traffic and complete the milling of the entire section more quickly.

“We plan that in two nights — tonight and tomorrow — we will completely mill this section. And after that we will proceed with continuous asphalting,” the Railway District Administration reported.

On Horodotska Street, the lower layer of the asphalt-concrete surface will be partially replaced and the top layer will be completely renewed. The works are being carried out with deferred payment.

Public transport continues to run according to its usual routes. At the same time, due to lane narrowing in certain places, temporary delays in traffic are possible.

The Railway District Administration urges drivers to take the repair works into account when planning journeys and to show understanding regarding any temporary inconvenience.
