In Lviv, on the street Plastova, 13, the construction of a waste processing plant is underway. Construction works are carried out by the Polish company Control Process S.A. The deployment of 24 biotunnels for efficient drying of waste is already underway here, and the process of concreting the first walls for biofilters has also begun.
“Now the mechanical-biological complex of solid waste is not just being built – it is growing forward!
Let’s emphasize the role of biotunnels, which perform a key mission in our project. We are deploying as many as 24 biodrying tunnels, which will maintain their activity at the complex. Biodrying tunnels are filled with special pipes for efficient waste drying. This is not just a process optimization – it is our contribution to the preservation of the environment. Note: the total length of these pipes is 14,544 meters!
But that’s not all – we have already started the process of concreting the first walls for biofilters and covering the biotunnel chambers. Such a step forward brings us closer to the creation of an ecologically clean and sustainable community,” said LKP “Green City”.
We will remind you that in general, the establishment of a solid household waste management system in Lviv involves three important parallel processes:
· construction of a mechanical-biological complex of overloading and processing of solid household waste.
· reclamation of the Hrybovytsky landfill (restoration of disturbed lands on the entire area of the Hrybovytsky landfill and adjacent areas that were contaminated during the landslide in May 2016 and those occupied by lakes (precautionary storage tanks).
· composting of separately collected food and garden waste (separate collection of organic and garden waste and their further processing at the city composting station). For the past two years, LKP “Green City” has been selling organic products.
