The modernized strategy of the region will become a basic document for the development of not only regional programs, but also the basis for the implementation of large-scale priority projects of the post-war reconstruction period.
The USAID project “Increasing the efficiency and accountability of local self-government bodies” (“HOVERLA”) will provide expert assistance to the Lviv region in updating the regional strategy in accordance with the government’s methodology.
Yesterday, we held an online presentation of the corresponding project for the development of 6 regional strategies (Lviv Oblast is one of them) “Support for updating the development strategies of six regions of Ukraine”, which will be implemented by the NGO “Volyn Resource Center” as part of the USAID “HOVERLA” Project.
We would like to remind that the Development Strategy of the Lviv Region for the period 2021-2027 was approved by the decision of the session of the Lviv Regional Council dated 12.24.2019 No. 948.
“It is clear that after the administrative and territorial reform, the coronavirus pandemic, and also in view of the need to overcome the consequences of the Russian Federation’s full-scale invasion of the territory of Ukraine, this strategy needs to be updated. From now on, Lviv Oblast has a new strategic mission of humanitarian hub and economic rear. It should also not be forgotten that today changes to the State Strategy are actively being worked out, and European integration processes are being intensified in connection with Ukraine’s acquisition of the status of a candidate for EU membership,” said Stepan Kuybida, director of the Department of Economic Policy of the State Administration of Ukraine.
He added that the modernized strategy of the region will become a basic document for the development of not only regional programs, but also the basis for the implementation of large-scale priority projects of the post-war reconstruction period.
