Technological Accident on the Power Grid: Consequences and Actions

A technological accident on the power grid occurred this morning, affecting the lines between Romania, Moldova, and Ukraine.

“A technological accident occurred on the network this morning: two lines between Romania and Moldova and on the territory of Ukraine stopped working. The reasons are being investigated in detail. As of now, there is no confirmation of external interference or a cyber attack. More data suggests that due to weather conditions, lines were iced over, causing automatic shutdowns,” stated the President.

Today, the government, the Ministry of Energy, and energy companies worked in emergency mode. The hardest-hit areas were Kyiv, Central Ukraine, Vinnytsia region, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions. Necessary forces were mobilized to address the situation.

The President thanked the repair crews and railway workers for their efforts. “Thanks to everyone who fights and works for Ukraine! Glory to Ukraine!”
