In September 2026, 1,141 residents of the Drohobych municipal territorial community received various types of social payments and benefits totalling 5.5 million UAH. This was reported by the Department of Social Protection of the Population of the Drohobych City Council.
Several comprehensive social programmes are in place in the community. In particular, under the municipal programme for the social protection of persons with disabilities, approved by the session decision of 11.12.2025 No.3692, 239.2 thousand UAH was paid in September to 288 people. Assistance was provided to citizens with Group I disabilities (bedridden), people with Group I visual disabilities, families with two or more non-working persons with disabilities (including persons with Group I or II disabilities or children with disabilities), as well as single non-working persons with disabilities in Groups I–II.
This programme also provides for concessions on the payment of housing and utility services. In September, 9.4 thousand UAH was allocated from the territorial community budget for this purpose for 13 recipients.
Separately, the community is implementing a comprehensive programme for the social protection of repressed persons, UPA soldiers and their family members. It guarantees a monthly pension supplement for participants in the national liberation struggle, members of the Drohobych branch of the OUN-UPA Brotherhood, as well as targeted assistance to political prisoners and rehabilitated victims of the communist totalitarian regime of 1917–1991. The total amount of payments under this programme in September was 34.0 thousand UAH.
Despite the existence of social programmes, the mayor continues to receive many individual requests for financial support. Decisions on the provision of such targeted assistance are taken by the permanent municipal commission. During September 2026, 105 requests were considered, resulting in payments totalling 110.4 thousand UAH.
Particular attention is paid to service personnel and their families. Within the framework of the municipal comprehensive programme, in September, participants in the Anti-Terrorist Operation and the Joint Forces Operation, persons with disabilities as a result of the war, family members of fallen Defenders of Ukraine and families of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred received one-off cash assistance totalling 1.4 million UAH. Additionally, to mark Defenders of Ukraine Day, a further 235.0 thousand UAH was allocated from the municipal territorial community budget for financial assistance.
In accordance with the decision of the session of the Drohobych City Council of 11.12.2025 No.3688, the community operates a compensation mechanism for individuals who provide social care services on a non-professional basis. In September 2026, 203.7 thousand UAH was paid out under this programme.
Since the beginning of 2026, the total amount of all social payments from the budget of the Drohobych community has reached 31.6 million UAH, which demonstrates substantial support for low-income and vulnerable groups of the population from the local authorities.
