In July 2026, 907 residents of the Drohobych community received social benefits totalling UAH 5.2 million. The funding was provided under several municipal comprehensive social protection programmes, the Drohobych City Council reported.
One of the key ones is the comprehensive social protection programme for persons with disabilities (approved by the council decision of 11.12.2025 No. 3692). In July, within this programme, UAH 258.8 thousand was transferred to 292 persons with disabilities, including persons with disabilities in Group I (bedridden), persons with disabilities in Group I due to visual impairment, families with two or more non-working persons with disabilities (including persons in Groups I or II or children with disabilities), as well as single non-working persons with disabilities in Groups I–II.
This same programme provides concessions for the payment of housing and utility services. In July 2026, UAH 30.7 thousand from the community budget was allocated for this purpose for 13 recipients.
A separate comprehensive social protection programme operates for repressed persons, UPA soldiers and their family members. It provides monthly pension supplements for participants in the national liberation struggle, members of the Drohobych branch of the OUN-UPA Brotherhood, as well as targeted assistance to political prisoners and persons rehabilitated as victims of repression by the communist totalitarian regime of 1917–1991. In July, UAH 33.5 thousand was paid out under this programme.
Despite the support programmes in place, community residents continue to apply to the mayor for one-off financial assistance. Such applications are considered by a standing municipal commission. During July 2026, 75 applications were received, under which targeted assistance totalling UAH 71.2 thousand was granted.
Under a separate procedure for providing assistance to families raising children diagnosed with cerebral palsy, UAH 30 thousand was allocated in July for 3 families.
A particular focus of the municipal programmes is support for Defenders of Ukraine, participants in the anti-terrorist operation (Joint Forces Operation), persons with disabilities as a result of the war, family members of fallen service personnel and families of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. In July, under the municipal comprehensive programme, they received one-off cash assistance totalling UAH 1.8 million.
Pursuant to the decision of the Drohobych City Council of 11.12.2025 No. 3688, the community provides compensation to individuals who deliver social care services on a non-professional basis. In July 2026, the volume of such payments amounted to UAH 196.5 thousand.
Since the beginning of the year, the total amount of social benefits under municipal programmes in the Drohobych community has reached UAH 21.1 million.
