In Lviv, the extreme heat has warped tram tracks on Lychakivska and Ivana Franka streets, causing emergencies and temporary changes to several tram routes. This was reported by the Lviv City Council.
On the section of 95 Lychakivska St towards Mytna Square, the track has warped due to the high temperature. As a result, trams No. 1, 2 and 7 are delayed. While the incident is being dealt with, tram No. 1 is running on the route “Pl. Dvirtseva — Academy of Arts”, tram No. 2 — “Konovaltsia — Academy of Arts”, tram No. 7 — “Kovcha — Torfiana”.
Another emergency situation occurred at 35 Ivana Franka St towards Soborna Square: a rail has lifted, causing delays to trams No. 3, 8 and 9. For the duration of the repair works, these routes run only as far as the “Academy of Arts” stop.
Emergency track crews from Lvivelektrotrans are working on both sections, carrying out urgent repair and restoration works. Once they are completed, tram services are expected to resume their usual routes.
