In Lviv, applications are open for grant support for businesses run by war veterans and their family members under the city programme “Courage for Business”. Documents can be submitted up to and including 23 October, and the maximum grant amount is UAH 300,000 for starting up or developing a business.
The competition is organised by the Department of Economic Development of Lviv City Council. The programme is intended for male and female war veterans, male and female participants in combat operations, including the ATO, as well as for their family members: husband or wife, one parent or adult children. There is a separate opportunity to take part for family members of fallen, deceased or missing defenders.
A mandatory condition for participation is that the applicant must be registered, be registered as an internally displaced person, or be registered as a sole trader (FOP) within the Lviv City Territorial Community. Only one person per family may take part in the competition, and a grant can be received only once.
The funds received (up to 300 thousand hryvnias) may be used for the purchase of equipment, raw materials and components, the purchase, rental or renovation of business premises, the purchase of specialised vehicles, licensed software, as well as for professional or specialised training to develop entrepreneurial activity. At the same time, grants are not provided for the production or sale of alcoholic beverages, tobacco products and other goods or services prohibited by law.
To apply, you need to prepare an application, an application form, identity documents and documents confirming veteran or family member status, business registration documents, as well as a commercial offer or invoice for the amount of the requested grant. Depending on the applicant category, additional supporting documents may be required.
The document package must be submitted to the Department of Economic Development via Lviv Administrative Services Centres or by using the CNAP electronic service for online submission. Staff at the Department of Economic Development help applicants to complete the application form and provide advice on participation in the competition. Detailed terms of the programme and the full list of required documents are set out in the resolution of Lviv City Council governing the implementation of the “Courage for Business” programme.
