In Lviv, the application period is nearing its end for the grant competition “Courage for Business”, under which veterans and their family members can receive up to 300 thousand hryvnias to start or develop their own business. Documents can be submitted until Friday, 23 October 2026.
The competition is organised by the Department of Economic Development of the Lviv City Council. The programme is aimed at supporting veterans and their relatives who plan to start their own business or expand an existing one.
The maximum grant amount is 300 thousand hryvnias. The funds may be used to purchase equipment, raw materials and components, to buy, rent or repair premises, as well as to purchase specialised vehicles for running the business. There is also provision for funding licensed software and professional training required for business development.
At the same time, the programme sets a number of restrictions. Only one person from a single family may take part in the competition, and grant support can be used only once. Projects related to the production or sale of alcoholic beverages, tobacco products and other goods or services prohibited by law are not funded.
To apply, you must prepare a package of documents, which includes: an application and completed application form, passport or ID card and tax identification number, a document confirming the status of a veteran or their family member, as well as documents on the registration of an individual entrepreneur (FOP) or legal entity. In addition, a commercial offer and/or invoice for the grant amount is required, along with documents confirming family ties (if the applicant is a veteran’s family member), and in cases specified by the programme, documents related to military service.
The document package is submitted to the Department of Economic Development of the Lviv City Council through Administrative Service Centres. Applications can also be sent electronically via the CNAP portal. After registering the documents at the Administrative Service Centre, the participant must additionally complete the registration Google form stipulated by the competition rules.
