In Lviv, preparations of the housing stock for the heating season are under way. As of 20 October, the in-house central heating systems have already been filled with water in 1,953 buildings, which is 91.4% of the total number of such buildings. Certificates of readiness for winter have been signed for 2,056 buildings, or 96.2%.
Lvivteploenergo Municipal Heat Supply Enterprise reminds residents that the filling of systems with water began back in September. The process is carried out in stages: first the heating networks are filled, then the in-house heating systems, while at the same time certificates confirming the buildings’ readiness for the heating season are drawn up.
“We are gradually filling the heating networks and in-house systems with water. This year we started this process as early as the beginning of September. This makes it possible to distribute the load evenly and, if any damage is found in the in-house systems, to repair it in good time. At the same time, before the heating system is filled with water, the building must be technically ready for winter. Confirmation of this is a signed certificate of readiness,” said Lvivteploenergo Municipal Heat Supply Enterprise.
The enterprise stresses that responsibility for the technical readiness of a building for winter lies with the housing managers. This refers to management companies, condominium associations (OSBB), housing cooperatives (ZhBK) and other entities responsible for building maintenance. Where certificates of readiness have not yet been issued, they are urged to complete the necessary preparatory work as soon as possible.
Lvivteploenergo also emphasises that without a signed certificate of readiness it is impossible to fill the in-house heating system with water and supply the building with heat transfer fluid. Therefore, timely preparation by managers is a key condition for residents to receive heating on time.
As of 20 October, heating is already being supplied in Lviv to 21 budget-funded institutions that have applied to Lvivteploenergo Municipal Heat Supply Enterprise with the relevant letters. These include 11 hospitals, among them a children’s hospital, maternity hospitals and medical facilities treating both civilians and military personnel, as well as 8 nursery schools and 2 lyceums.
