Trakt Hlynianskyi Street in Lviv to be closed this weekend: bus routes 18, 23, 29 and 61 to be diverted

At the weekend of 25–26 July, a section of Trakt Hlynianskyi Street in Lviv will be closed to traffic from Bohdanivska Street to Bihova Street. The top layer of asphalt will be laid here, so all traffic will be temporarily halted. This was reported by the Lychakiv District Administration.

Due to the closure, the routes of four public bus services will be altered:

  • buses No. 18 and No. 23 will run from Subotivska Street to the Trakt Hlynianskyi — Bohdanivska junction;
  • bus No. 29 will operate on the route Vynnyky — Lysynychi — “Provesin” neighbourhood (“Provesin” stop). To maintain service intervals, 2 additional buses will be put into operation on the route;
  • bus No. 61 will operate on the route Pidbirtsi — Vynnyky — Pidbirtsi.

The district administration notes that laying the top layer of asphalt is the final stage of the current repair of this part of the street. In the run-up, the contractor is completing the installation of new kerbs, and the main roadworks are scheduled specifically for Saturday and Sunday to reduce the impact on everyday traffic.

«We are carrying out the works specifically on Saturday and Sunday to reduce inconvenience for residents and minimise the impact on traffic. If we manage to finish ahead of schedule, we will reopen the street to traffic immediately», said Yurii Lukashevskyi.

The Transport Department of Lviv City Council is asking passengers to take the temporary changes into account when planning their journeys. The Lychakiv District Administration apologises for the inconvenience caused by the closure.

Repairs to Trakt Hlynianskyi Street have been under way since the end of May. On this section, the pavements have already been repaired, the most problematic part of the water supply network has been replaced, the old asphalt surface has been removed and the base layer of asphalt has been laid.
