In Lviv, over 1,000 buildings are already receiving hot water after network tests

In Lviv, the phased restoration of hot water supply continues following the annual hydraulic testing of the heating networks. According to Lvivteploenergo Municipal Heating Utility (ЛМКП «Львівтеплоенерго»), as of now hot water is already being supplied to over 1,000 residential buildings in various districts of the city.

In just the past 24 hours, a further 108 buildings in Sykhivskyi district and 12 buildings in Frankivskyi district have been reconnected to the hot water supply. In total, more than 580 buildings in Sykhivskyi and Frankivskyi districts already have hot water, and supply has also been restored to buildings in Shevchenkivskyi, Lychakivskyi and Halytskyi districts.

“Restoring hot water supply to residential buildings is a process that does not happen quickly. The heating network and the in-building system must be filled in stages, maintaining the appropriate pressure. At the same time, we monitor whether any damage occurs and, if it does, we deal with it,” the Lvivteploenergo Municipal Heating Utility (ЛМКП «Львівтеплоенерго») reported.

This year, the annual hydraulic testing of the heating networks in Lviv began on 11 May. It was planned to complete the tests and remedy the identified defects by June, but some of the work was carried out ahead of schedule, so hot water returned to part of the buildings as early as May.

In particular, from 18 May hot water supply was restored for 108 buildings in Lychakivskyi district, from 21 May for 49 buildings in Shevchenkivskyi district, from 22 May for 9 buildings in Sykhivskyi district, and on 30 May for 54 buildings in Frankivskyi district. From 4 June, hot water was supplied to 10 buildings on Volodymyra Velykoho Street (Nos. 61, 63, 65, 67, 69, 71, 73, 75, 79, 81), and from 5 June to 204 buildings in Shevchenkivskyi district. From 15 June, the utility began actively restoring hot water for residents of Sykhivskyi and Frankivskyi districts.

At the same time, from 16 June hydraulic testing started in Lviv’s Zaliznychnyi district and the Riasne microdistrict. Here, the strength and reliability of the pipelines will be tested for around two weeks, so hot water supply in these microdistricts has been suspended approximately until the end of June.
