In Lviv, during routine repairs on Heroes of UPA Street at its junction with Yaroslav Pasternak Street, another section of old stone setts was uncovered. The stones are to be carefully dismantled, recorded and transferred into storage for future use at other sites.
According to the Frankivsk District Administration, the second stage of repairs is currently under way on the section of Heroes of UPA Street from Vasylkivsky Street to Smal-Stotsky Street. The old asphalt has already been removed here and the kerbs dismantled, with the base being prepared for a new surface.
During milling at the junction with Ya. Pasternak Street, a layer of setts was found, similar to those discovered on the previous section of the street. According to the district administration, the setts from this location will also be removed, entered into the inventory and sent to storage depots. At the junction, the road base will be reinforced and an asphalt surface laid.
Earlier, during works on the section of Heroes of UPA Street from Stepan Bandera Street to Vasylkivsky Street, setts with a total area of 480 m² were discovered in three locations. All these sections were dismantled and documented. Of these, 20 m² were handed over to the Frankivsk District Administration for landscaping a small square on Ye. Konovalets Street, 110 m² were received by LCE “Lvivavtodor” for repairs on Zaliznychna Street, and the remaining 350 m² were sent into storage.
The Lviv City Council reminds residents that all setts dismantled during road repairs are obligatorily recorded and transferred to municipal company depots under handover and acceptance certificates. They may be issued for the needs of district administrations, LCE “Lvivavtodor” or other City Hall units only on the basis of a decision of the executive committee or a resolution of a City Council session.
As of today, depots in Lviv hold 21,092.42 m² of setts, 1,166.42 m² of mosaic paving and 702.70 linear metres of kerbstone, which can be used during future repairs and improvements to the urban environment.
