On 27 October, Lviv will for the second time host the business session “Intellectual Property for Business: Technology, Art, Personal Brand”. The event is dedicated to the protection of brands, design, software code and copyrighted content, as well as the practical use of intellectual property to grow businesses and enter international markets.
The business session is organised for entrepreneurs and business owners, artists, representatives of the creative industries, IT specialists, innovators, exporters and everyone planning to work in foreign markets. Participation is free of charge, but advance registration is required and places are limited.
During the event, experts will explain how to turn a brand into a business asset, which intellectual property protection tools are available in Ukraine and how to use them in practice. Participants will be shown how to independently search for and check trade marks, as well as submit an online application for their registration.
A separate section will be devoted to changes in Ukrainian legislation in the field of intellectual property in the context of alignment with European Union law. The opportunities offered by the SME Fund 2026 programme, which supports small and medium-sized enterprises in protecting intellectual property rights, will also be presented, and information will be provided on obtaining a certification voucher from Lviv City Council.
The programme includes a discussion on copyright protection in the creative industries, as well as the legal aspects of protecting works of art created using elements of weapons. According to the Department of Economic Development of Lviv City Council, the session will have a practical format: participants will be able to put questions to experts, receive individual recommendations on protecting their own developments and brands, and establish professional contacts.
The event will take place in the Grand Session Hall of Lviv City Council (1 Rynok Sq.). Participation is free, subject to prior registration.
The organisers of the business session are: the Entrepreneurship Support Centre of Lviv City Council, the Department of Economic Development of Lviv City Council, the Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovation (UKRNOIVI), the Intellectual Property Committee of the Lviv Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and ARTEXPORT CLUSTER.
The previous business session in Lviv devoted to intellectual property focused on the basics of brand protection and the use of intellectual property rights to enter international markets. This time, the organisers have broadened the range of topics, adding an emphasis on the creative industries, innovative developments and personal branding.
